After many years of only digital photography, here is a teaser from my first foray into film! On a lovely recent trip to British Columbia, I had the privilege of using a beautifully preserved Hasselblad 500 C/M to shoot five rolls of ISO400, 120mm film. They've been developed and scanned (thank you, Colortek), so stay tuned for my favorite shots, post-processed with Darktable (the open-source photography lighttable/darkroom workflow application for Linux).

what i'm doing in Haiti this summer
24 June 2013 — For the next few weeks, I am in Haiti working to help implement and improve mental health clinical protocols that I helped design (specifically around managing suicidality).
In my free moments, I will post as many pictures as I can, and I hope you'll be moved by them.

- Canon EOS 5D (Mark I) 12.8 MP DSLR
- Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM prime lens
& - Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP point-and-shoot
- Motorola Droid RAZR Maxx HD (w/ HDR and panorama capabilities)

Important: Also know and be relieved by the fact that no images (a) from clinical settings, or (b) from settings wherein individuals should reasonably expect privacy are going to appear unless extremely explicit informed consent +/- wish for publicity is given and documented. I recognize that I will be working with some vulnerable populations (eg. impoverished and/or mentally ill) but I will remain conscientious and respectful of their autonomy and privacy, as I would for any subjects.
